“They say two wrongs don’t make it right, but it damn sure makes it even”
It is Friday, October 25th as I am writing this article. Due to circumstances beyond my control, it is necessary for me to write this way earlier than usual. If any information I put out has changed or has been amended by the time this gets published on Thursday, November 7th, then you will understand.
On Thursday, October 17th, Rep. Elijah Cummings passed away from complications due to long-time health issues. Mr. Cummings was legendary and an icon.
Today on October 25th, I woke up late that morning to the news about an individual who wrecked Moscow Mitch’s face when he refused to shake McConnell’s paw at the memorial service that was held.
Needless to say, when I watched the video, I was laughing my butt off. As my younger friends would express, “It was giving me life.” What tickled me further was the look of bewilderment on Moscow Mitch’s face as he turned to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was apparently surprised by this man’s nerve. The smirk on Senator Schumer’s face was priceless.
According to The New York Post, which I have been told is very Conservative-leaning, the man is a friend of Rep. Cummings who was a pallbearer at the funeral. The New York Post reported his name is Bobby Rankin.
Personally, I thought common sense would come into play that the man was a friend of Rep. Cummings or a friend of the Cumming’s family, and that would have been the end of it.
Unfortunately, The New York Post felt the need to investigate Mr. Rankin’s background starting with which political party he was registered under, and a background check going back as far as 1985. Rep. Cummings was known to have friends who were both Democrat and Republican. But being the Conservative paper it is, I can only conclude that The New York Post had to protect their buddy Moscow Mitch being humiliated by demonizing Mr. Rankin.
Instead of trying to demonize ordinary citizen Bobby Rankin, I wonder if The New York Post reported like Rolling Stone magazine about Rep. Cumings being so dedicated to his job that on his deathbed, he was still signing subpoenas concerning Trump’s attempt to bar extremely sick immigrants seeking medical help in this country.
Unintentionally, The New York Post has made Bobby Rankin a hero. Mr. Rankin is a true friend to Rep. Cummings. He honored Mr. Cummings’s memory. Mr. Rankin quietly walked past Moscow Mitch like he didn’t exist. Mr. Rankin didn’t draw attention to himself. He didn’t disrupt the memorial service. He just didn’t give Moscow Mitch the respect that McConnell has not shown to millions upon millions of Americans he has shown downright contempt toward. Thank you, Mr. Rankin, for keeping it real. #ServingElegantContemptRealness
